Tom is One2Tri Racing's resident ultra runner that set out to enjoy the day and his fitness during this 24 hour race. Each lap of the course was .98 miles and the entire surface was asphalt with a few small inclines on the loop. Tom's goal was to average a 12:00 pace. Despite troubles with blisters, a calf tweak and some right foot tendinitis, Tom managed ran 78.4 (!) miles in 24-hours.
You may wonder what an endurance athlete like Tom might eat during a 24-hour running event! Here's Tom's meal plan: 3 slices of pizza, a hamburger, a cheeseburger, Doritos, cookies, pecan bars, raisin bars, potatoes, potato chips, PB&J, and salted peanuts! Sounds like that would give Michael Phelps' calorie intake a run for its money.
The most amazing part of all is that Tom managed with only a 30-45 min nap at 1:15am and a 30 minute break at 6:00am - in 24 hours!
Tom's accommodations were likely a little less "luxurious" than most people may envision on New Year's Eve!

Congrats Tom on a phenomenal job!
