1st's, 2nd's and 3rd's Oh My!

One2Tri Racing was all over Charlotte and the surrounding areas representing this weekend!

Kim Eagens, Jim Kunevicious and Tom O'Donnell headed to Kings Mountain, NC to compete in the notorious Over The Mountain triathlon hosted by Setup Events (1500 meter swim / 45k bike / 10k run).  In addition to being 5k longer than the typical Olympic distance bike leg, the events' name is no coincidence; the new 2011 run course didn't fall short of "over the mountain" either.

Kim Eagens posted solid results for One2Tri with a 1st place age group and a 5th place overall female against some pretty stiff local competition.  Kim crossed the line in 2:40:36 and turned in the 3rd fastest female bike split of the day (1st in age group) with a 1:22:21 (20.1 mph).

Jim Kunevicius nabbed a 3rd place age group place with a solid 2:36:26 on what was intended to be a "training day".  Jim came home with the 10th fastest male run split of the day (of 198!) with a speedy 40:54 (6:34/mile) after a pretty "vicious" bike course.  Pun intended.

Tom O'Donnell, despite working 192 hours a week for the past 6 months, came in with a 2:42:24 for a 7th place finish in a very competitive age group field.  Overall, a very strong day for Tom in all three disciplines.  Look for both Tom and Jim in the coming months as they gear up for IM USA - Lake Placid in July.

Danielle and Chad celebrating post 5k
Danielle and Chad Crockford showed up to race at the Great Harvest Bread 5k  in Charlotte.  Danielle turned in a 19:09 (6:10/mile) for a 4th place female and Chad took a 3rd place overall with a 17:05 (5:30/mile).  A huge congrats go out to Chad and Danielle for amazing results again in a very fast race!  The team is still waiting for them to share their delicious Great Harvest bread!

Later that day, Chad and Joey Church, also participated in the Copper Classic 1k to raise awareness for Pints for Prostates, a local charitable organization committed to fighting prostate cancer.  Joey came in to the 0.568-mile run with tremendous pressure as the defending champion, and took a solid 3rd place this year, just behind Chad in 2nd.  The two enjoyed several pints thereafter to celebrate their strong finish, all the while contributing to a great cause.

Tom Patch completed the River Bound Race Series 10k trail run at the White Water Center.  Tom PR'd this years race by well over 3 minutes and came across the line in  50:45 (8:11/mile) for a 4th place age group place!  Congrats to Tom!

A busy weekend for the One2Tri Racing team and we have no doubts the rest of the summer will prove to be the same!  Check back for photos!!
