From 100 mile mountain rides, to nearby sprint triathlons and national bike races...the One2Tri Racing squad was all over this weekend!!
Michael Beacham, Kim Eagens, Jim Kunevicius, Keith Mrocheck and Tom O'Donnell took to the mountains for the epic 13th annual Blood, Sweat and Gears 100+ mile ride. The BSG course features nearly 14,000 feet of vertical climbing and takes riders through some of the most beautiful, yet challenging, mountains of NC. Michael Beacham rolled in with a 6:21, Kim Eagens turned in a 6:01 for the 7th female finish, Jim Kunevicius broke out a solid 5:54, Keith Mrocheck had a phenomenal ride with a 5:29 and Tom O'Donnell brought in a 6:51!!
Joey Church took to the Capital Cycling Club - Apex 41-mile road race on Saturday and came home with a cat5 5th place finish and a sold training day under his belt!
Our resident runners, Team Crockford, ventured down to Tri the Midlands in Columbia, SC to "tri" their hats in triathlon again....and a great idea it was! The race featured a 500m open water swim, a 14 mile bike and a 5k run. Danielle took the 2nd place overall female finish with a 1:19:06 and Chad took a 2nd place age group with a 1:11:23!
Greg Shore headed to the shore (pun intended) for the Kure Beach Double Sprint triathlon that is one of the most unique courses in the NC Triathlon Series. The race includes a 375 meter ocean swim, a 1.5 mile run, a 20k bike, a 1.5 mile run and a 375 meter swim! Despite cramping, Greg took home a 1st age group position with a 1:05:18.
Last, but certainly NOT least, Robin Farina racing with her National Pro Cycling team NOW and Novartis for MS, took home the USA Cycling Elite Women's Road Race Championship on Sunday in Augusta, GA! Look out for Robin as she comes back to Charlotte on the local triathlon circuit with the One2Tri Racing squad!
Overall, a very solid weekend of racing and training for One2Tri Racing. Check back soon for pictures from these great events! Stumpy Creek will be the next big outing for the members of One2Tri Racing! July 16th (Olympic) and 17th (Sprint). Happy training.
